THE COMPASS ON TOUR

Following the success of The Compass in Leicester, the artwork has been reimagined and re edited to be shown in a series of iconic locations.  Vast and dramatic for The Deep, Hull, shining and spectacular for Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre, Cheshire, and mesmerising and immersive for 2 Royal Avenue, Belfast.  Featured in science festivals, it has been wonderful to revisit this piece anew with different audiences.

The British Science Festival invites you to take a journey of exploration at The Compass. A unique spectacle of story, sound and light, The Compass is an immersive, projection mapped installation, bringing to life how we navigate knowledge, and how scientific research can be a compass to guide our curiosity. British Science Researchers are revealed as pioneering explorers, on personal voyages of discovery with horizons to explore. Just as a compass helps us plot a course, find our bearings, and explore new worlds, The Compass shows us that scientific endeavours and processes resonate directly with our own lives, blending research stories with those of young people in Leicester beginning their own scientific journeys.

The Compass by Illuminos has been commissioned by the British Science Association (BSA) produced by Inspirate. The incredible structure itself was made with M3 Industries.
